Entertainment Centers: How are You Entertained?
When I was around six or seven years old, I first heard the term entertainment center. In my head, after hearing this, I thought about my favorite arcade at the time. I had no clue that an entertainment center was just some shelves that hold up your TV and VCR. Talk about a let-down for a little kid. When I heard we were going to look for an entertainment center, I thought I was going to get to play skeeball and all sorts of other games. I can't lie, that trip to the furniture store had me bored out of my skull while my parents debated price and wood color.
While entertainment centers are simply something to house the real entertainment in your home, the look of these pieces of furniture will give off the vibe you want for your living room. That's why it is important that you pick something that represents the room as a whole. These units have come a long way since my first and early introduction. From minimalistic stands for your flat-screen television to ones with shelves you can decorate, they are a far cry from the old ones from the '80s. They even have ones that enable you to add an electronic fireplace insert. The beauty of getting one with a lot of shelves, for me, means I can have room for all my gaming systems and my old record player. To me, entertainment is playing a relaxing farming game while listening to some old Poco music.
